HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of 
4
citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Andy Busch is retiring from the Mahomet-Seymour 
6
Board of Education after 24 years of service; he was elected to 
7
the Board in November of 1983, just days before his daughter, 
8
Rachel, was born; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He served as President of the Board from 1993-2005 
10
and is currently the Board Vice-President; he has worked with 
11
three superintendents: Lee Rodgers, John Alumbaugh, and Keith 
12
Oates; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Andy Busch and his wife, Dana, have been married 
14
26 years; their daughter, Rachel, graduated from 
15
Mahomet-Seymour High School and Oklahoma State University, and 
16
currently resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Andy Busch has always based his decisions on what 
18
was best for the students; he has voted for things that he 
19
personally opposed, but knew were best for the students; as a 
20
product of the school system, he has always been able to bring 
21
a "historical" perspective to board issues; and

    WHEREAS, Andy Busch has seen many demographic changes 
2
during his tenure on the Board of Education; during his time 
3
serving on the Board of Education, the district has grown 
4
almost fourfold; he  has overseen numerous referenda and 
5
building programs and fostered the high standards of learning 
6
for which the district is now well known and proud; therefore, 
7
be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10
congratulate Andy Busch on his retirement and wish him the best 
11
in his future endeavors; and be it further

 
12
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13
presented to Andy Busch as a symbol of our respect.
