HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Steven C. Fannin, 
4
Superintendent of Morris Community High School, on his 
5
retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Steven Fannin received a Bachelor of Arts in 
7
Secondary Education, Biology from Culver-Stockton College in 
8
Canton, Missouri in 1971; he received his Master of Science in 
9
Educational Administration from Illinois State University in 
10
1981 and his Certificate of Advanced Study In Educational 
11
Administration from ISU in 1990; he is currently a candidate 
12
for his Doctorate of Philosophy In Educational Administration 
13
and Foundations from ISU; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Steven Fannin has a long and distinguished career 
15
in public school education; he was a teacher of Biology, 
16
Physical Sciences, and Chemistry, as well as a football, 
17
basketball, baseball, and wrestling coach at Hall High School 
18
in Spring Valley from 1971 to 1986; he was principal of Hall 
19
High School from 1986 to 1993; he served as Superintendent of 
20
Freeburg Community High School District 77 from 1993 to 1997; 
21
he went on to become Superintendent of Morris Community High 
22
School in 1997; and

    WHEREAS, Steven Fannin is a member of the American 
2
Association of School Administrators, the
Association for 
3
Supervision and Curriculum Development, the
 Illinois 
4
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the
 
5
State of Illinois Administrators Academy, and the
 Local 
6
Administrators Roundtable; he was the
Vice-President of St. 
7
Clair County Administrators Association and a member of the 
8
Board of the Grundy  Economic Development Council; he serves as  
9
the Prairieland Regional American Cancer Society Board Chair 
10
and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois 
11
Division of the ACS; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Steven Fannin is President of the Grundy County 
13
Special Education Cooperative; he served as the President of 
14
the Grundy Area Vocational Center in 2005 and 2006; he has 
15
served the Illinois Association of School Administrators Three 
16
Rivers Region as the Region Professional Development Chair, the 
17
Region President, and as a member on the Advisory Committee for 
18
State Superintendent of Schools; therefore, be it
 
19
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
21
congratulate Steven Fannin on his retirement and wish him 
22
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
23
