HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, After 18 years of dedicated and devoted service to 
3
the residents of Niles, Tom Bondi will retire on April 30, 2007 
4
from his position as Niles Village Trustee; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Tom was born and raised in Chicago, and he moved 
6
to Niles in 1964 with his wife Mary, and their two children, 
7
Tom Bondi, Jr. and Laurie Strzelecki; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Tom began his service with the Village of Niles in 
9
1980 when he was appointed to the Village Zoning Board; during 
10
his service as a Zoning Board Commissioner, Tom was appointed 
11
Village Trustee to serve the remainder of an uncompleted term;  
12
and

 
13
    WHEREAS, In April 1991, he was elected by the voters to 
14
continue his service as Trustee and has been reelected three 
15
times since; during his career as Village Trustee, Tom has been 
16
part of the team that oversaw unprecedented economic growth; 
17
the many services that the Village now enjoys, combined with 
18
low property tax rates, are a tribute to the contributions that 
19
Tom has made; and

    WHEREAS, Tom is the Chairman of the annual Fourth of July 
21
Parade; over the years, Tom has volunteered his time and talent

in many civic organizations; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4
congratulate Tom Bondi on his retirement as Village Trustee for 
5
the Village of Niles; and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Tom Bondi as a symbol of our respect.
