| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Neil A. Bosanko of |
| 4 |
| South Chicago on having the Bowen High School Auditorium |
| 5 |
| renamed the Neil A. Bosanko Auditorium in his honor; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Neil Bosanko is a vibrant part of the South |
| 7 |
| Chicago community; he was involved in the Afro-American History |
| 8 |
| Club and worked in his neighborhood of Calumet Heights to |
| 9 |
| arrange block clubs and community-wide clean ups while a |
| 10 |
| student at Bowen High School; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Neil Bosanko |
| 12 |
| entered the Peace Corps/VISTA program working in a project |
| 13 |
| under the Governor's office called PROJECT FIND, focusing on |
| 14 |
| the ethnic senior communities around Chicago and the Midwest; |
| 15 |
| he worked to help older adults with language barriers find the |
| 16 |
| services and support agencies they needed; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Neil Bosanko helped found and operate the COPA |
| 18 |
| Arts Center at Bessmer Park; he took a position with the South |
| 19 |
| Chicago Neighborhood House as a youth service coordinator and |
| 20 |
| moved into the directorship of the center, remaining there for |
| 21 |
| thirteen years; he later became the Executive Director of the |
| 22 |
| South Chicago Chamber of Commerce; and
