HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Doris N. 
4
Laucik of Bloomingdale; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Doris Laucik retired as secretary and office 
6
manager for the Democrat Leadership Office in the State of 
7
Illinois Building in Chicago in 1983; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Doris Laucik served under Speaker of the House 
9
Michael Madigan, and former Speakers William Redmond and John 
10
Touhy; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, She began her career in 1958, serving in the 
12
Quincy office of former U.S. Representative George Shipley; she 
13
went on to work in the offices of former Illinois Governors 
14
Kerner and Shapiro and former U.S. Representative Sidney Yates; 
15
and

 
16
    WHEREAS, She was a lifetime and loyal member of the 
17
Democratic Party in Illinois; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Doris N. Laucik is survived by her children,  Susan 
19
(Richard) Bloss and Lynn (John) Sakellarides; her 
20
grandchildren, Richard (Laura) and Jonathan (Anna) Bloss and

Alexis and Theo Sakellarides; and her great-grandchildren, 
2
Joseph, James, and Emily Bloss; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Doris 
6
Laucik; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Doris Laucik as a symbol of our 
9
sympathy.
