HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Richard Pellegrino on 
4
receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian 
5
American Political Coalition; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino served with the United States 
7
Army during the Vietnam War and was discharged as Sergeant E-5; 
8
he received a commendation medal for meritorious service in 
9
Vietnam; he received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Loyola 
10
University in 1975 and a Master's degree in 1985; he received 
11
his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn School of Law in 1978; 
12
and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino was admitted to the Illinois 
14
Bar and established a law practice in 1979; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino served as Commissioner of the 
16
Cook County Sheriff's Police and Corrections Merit Board for 
17
four years; as Commissioner of the Illinois Supreme Court ARDC 
18
Inquiry Board; as an advisory member of Triton College's nine 
19
person financial committee; as a prosecutor for the Illinois 
20
Secretary of State; and he served as a member of the 
21
legislative and executive committees of the West Central 
22
Municipal Conference, where he also served as president of the

37 municipalities which comprise the conference; and

 
2
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino is the Mayor of Indian Head 
3
Park, where he previously served as Commissioner of Planning 
4
and Zoning, and Trustee; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino maintains memberships in the 
6
American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar 
7
Association; he also maintains membership in the Justinian 
8
Society of Lawyers and the National American Bar Association; 
9
and
 
10
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino is the proud husband of Peggy; 
11
he is the proud father of Michael, Danny, Joey, and Rachel; the 
12
family belongs to  St. John of the Cross parish; and
 
13
    WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino will receive the Lifetime 
14
Achievement Award from the Italian American Political 
15
Coalition on March 28, 2007; therefore, be it

 
16
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18
congratulate Richard Pellegrino on receiving the Lifetime 
19
Achievement Award from the Italian American Political 
20
Coalition; and be it further
