| WHEREAS, Indiana Insurance Company, a member of the Liberty |
| 3 |
| Mutual Group, has been a leading insurer of schools in Illinois |
| 4 |
| and throughout the Midwest for more than 30 years; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Fostering safer schools is a priority that extends |
| 6 |
| far beyond the comprehensive insurance coverage Indiana |
| 7 |
| Insurance offers; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Schools face special problems not seen in |
| 9 |
| commercial lines of business, and which require training in the |
| 10 |
| unique hazards of school operations; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS,
Indiana Insurance has created the Safety |
| 12 |
| Advantage Network, a cooperative undertaking that includes a |
| 13 |
| focus on prevention, protection, and preservation within the |
| 14 |
| schools that Indiana Insurance insures; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The Safety Advantage Network brings together key |
| 16 |
| allies with a passion for improving the educational process by |
| 17 |
| improving the safety and security of schools; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS,
School violence, bullying, and other school |
| 19 |
| safety concerns are topics on the agenda for a Safer Schools |
| 20 |
| Seminar hosted by Indiana Insurance, a member of the Liberty |

| Mutual Group, for school administrators, teachers, and school |

| resource officers to be held on March 20, 2007 at Illinois |

| State University in Normal, Illinois; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 5 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 6 |
| congratulate Indiana Insurance of the Liberty Mutual Group for |
| 7 |
| its efforts in Illinois and throughout the Midwest to reduce |
| 8 |
| school violence and in fostering an environment conducive to |
| 9 |
| learning; and be it further
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That the Indiana Insurance Safety Advantage |
| 11 |
| Network programs on prevention have demonstrated that school |
| 12 |
| violence can be curbed through thoughtful, cooperative, and |
| 13 |
| continuous efforts by school district officials, teachers, |
| 14 |
| parents, and pupils; and be it further
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That Indiana Insurance's efforts to make this |
| 16 |
| Safer Schools Seminar available to all school districts, |
| 17 |
| including those not currently insured with Indiana Insurance, |
| 18 |
| is highly commendable; and be it further
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 |
| presented to the Indiana Insurance Company of the Liberty |
| 21 |
| Mutual Group as a symbol of our respect.
