HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representative are pleased to honor the Palatine Junior Chamber 
4
of Commerce on the occasion of the Jaycees' 50th anniversary; 
5
and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Palatine Junior Chamber of Commerce, known as 
7
the Palatine Jaycees, was founded on February 19, 1957; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, The Palatine Jaycees are known to provide an 
9
opportunity for young people, ages 21-40, to learn leadership 
10
skills while helping their community; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, The Palatine Jaycees are one of the largest 
12
Jaycees chapters in Illinois with over 130 members; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, The Palatine Jaycees are known throughout the 
14
Village for providing residents with the annual 4th of July 
15
festival, now known as Hometown Fest, as well as many other 
16
events such as Sand Sale, Community Garage Sale, Egg Hunt, 
17
College Scholarships, and Christmas Tree Sales; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, The Palatine Jaycees have also provided monetary 
19
donations and countless volunteer man-hours to many community 
20
organizations; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the young men and women who make up the Palatine 
4
Junior Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of their 50th 
5
anniversary and wish them the best for the next 50 years; and 
6
be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Janet Leigh, President of the Palatine Jaycees as 
9
a symbol of our esteem.
