| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus |
| 3 |
| (MRSA) continues to be a cause of concern for the citizens of |
| 4 |
| this State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It is imperative to protect the health and safety |
| 6 |
| of the public by educating the citizens of this State about the |
| 7 |
| dangers of MRSA; therefore, be it
|
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 9 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 10 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created the Joint Task |
| 11 |
| Force on MRSA Education, which shall be charged with the task |
| 12 |
| of spearheading the effort to educate parents, students, |
| 13 |
| teachers, and school administrators about the dangers of MRSA |
| 14 |
| and ways to prevent the spread of MRSA; and be it further
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That the Joint Task Force shall consist of 8 |
| 16 |
| members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Director of |
| 17 |
| Public Health; and be it further
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, That the Director shall choose one member |
| 19 |
| representing each of the following groups: nurses, specialists |
| 20 |
| in the field of infection control and epidemiology, education |
| 21 |
| organizations, school principals, the Illinois Department of |
