| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5912 on page 3, by |

| replacing lines 19 through 22 with the following:

| "(f) The corporate authorities of a municipality may adopt |
| 5 |
| ordinances or resolutions allowing
all-terrain vehicles to be |
| 6 |
| operated on roadways
under their jurisdiction, subject to the |
| 7 |
| following restrictions: (i) all-terrain vehicles may be |
| 8 |
| operated on roadways under this subsection (f) only by persons |
| 9 |
| holding a valid Illinois driver's license; and (ii) all-terrain |
| 10 |
| vehicles operated on roadways under this subsection (f) must be |
| 11 |
| equipped with
brakes, a steering apparatus, tires, a rearview |
| 12 |
| mirror, a
headlight that
emits a
white light visible from a |
| 13 |
| distance of 500 feet to the front, a tail lamp that
emits a
red |
| 14 |
| light visible from at least 100 feet from the rear, brake |
| 15 |
| lights, and turn
signals. When operated on a roadway, an |
| 16 |
| all-terrain vehicle shall have its headlight and
tail lamps |
| 17 |
| lighted as required by Section 12-201".
