| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 5-1 as follows:
|

| (720 ILCS 5/5-1) (from Ch. 38, par. 5-1)

| Sec. 5-1. Accountability for conduct of another. A person |
| 8 |
| is responsible for conduct which is an element of an offense if

| the
the conduct is either that of the person himself, or that |

is legally accountable for such conduct as |

| provided in Section 5--2, or
both. |
