Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Prohibits an owner, licensee, administrator, employee, or agent of a
nursing home from exploiting a resident. Requires a nursing home employee or agent who becomes aware of such exploitation to report it. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning regulation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 2-107 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (210 ILCS 45/2-107) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4152-107)

| Sec. 2-107. Abuse, neglect, or exploitation; duty to |
| 8 |
| report. An owner, licensee, administrator, employee or agent of |
| 9 |
| a
facility shall not abuse, or neglect, or exploit a resident. |
| 10 |
| It is the duty of any
facility employee or agent who becomes |
| 11 |
| aware of such abuse, or neglect, or exploitation to report it
|
| 12 |
| as provided in "The Abused and Neglected Long Term Care |
| 13 |
| Facility Residents
Reporting Act".

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
