| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 5-1129 as follows:
|

| (55 ILCS 5/5-1129 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-1129. Leases of equipment and machinery. The county |
| 8 |
| board of each county may, upon the affirmative vote of |
| 9 |
| two-thirds of its members, enter into one or more leases for a |
| 10 |
| period of not to exceed 5 years for computer equipment, data |
| 11 |
| processing machinery, and software, as may be required for its |
| 12 |
| corporate purposes.
