AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 254

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 254 on page 1, by

replacing line 11 with the following:

    "(b) The Department, or any other State or county agency 
5
with Department approval, may"; and

on page 1, line 15, after "neglect", by inserting "in domestic 
7
living situations"; and
 

8
on page 1, line 22, by deleting "the Department of Public 
9
Health,"; and
 

10
on page 2, lines 2 and 4, after "older" each time it appears, 
11
by inserting "in domestic living situations"; and

on page 2, line 5, after "undetermined", by inserting "manner"; 
13
and

on page 2, line 12, after "older", by inserting "residing in

domestic living situations"; and

on page 2, lines 14 and 15, by replacing "The Department or

other State or county agency" with "Each review team, with the 
5
advice and consent of the Department,"; and

on page 3, line 12, by inserting after the period the 
7
following:

"Release of confidential communication between domestic 
9
violence advocates and a domestic violence victim shall follow 
10
subsection (d) of Section 227 of the Illinois Domestic Violence 
11
Act of 1986 which allows for the waiver of privilege afforded 
12
to guardians, executors, or administrators of the estate of the 
13
domestic violence victim.  This provision relating to the 
14
release of confidential communication between domestic 
15
violence advocates and a domestic violence victim shall exclude 
16
adult protective service providers.".
