| AMENDMENT TO SENATE RESOLUTION 692

| AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend Senate Resolution 692 on page 2, |

| immediately below line 5, by inserting the following:

| "RESOLVED, That the Board of Higher Education shall, for |
| 5 |
| each of the issues set forth for investigation in this |
| 6 |
| resolution: (1) solicit and report in its findings the views of |
| 7 |
| private entities that currently operate bookstores either on |
| 8 |
| behalf of or independent of one or more public universities or |
| 9 |
| community colleges in this State, including, but not limited |
| 10 |
| to, the National Association of College Stores, the Illinois |
| 11 |
| Retail Merchants Association, Follett Higher Education Group, |
| 12 |
| and other entities operating as campus bookstore managers; and |
| 13 |
| (2) solicit and report the views of textbook authors and |
| 14 |
| publishers, including, but not limited to, the Association of |
| 15 |
| American Publishers, the Association of American University |
| 16 |
| Presses, postsecondary textbook publishers, and faculty |
| 17 |
| representatives; and be it further"; and
|
| 18 |
| on page 2, line 9, by replacing "August 1, 2006" with "January |
| 19 |
| 15, 2007". |
