| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
| 3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Minister |
| 4 |
| Elmarie Mosley of East St. Louis, who passed away on March 5, |
| 5 |
| 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Elmarie Pleasant was born on November 4, 1941 to |
| 7 |
| John and Hursie Pleasant; she married Roy Mosley on August 7, |
| 8 |
| 1964 and five children were born to this union; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, From an early age, she accepted Christ as her |
| 10 |
| Savior and worked diligently to embody His Word in her actions |
| 11 |
| and deeds; she became a member of Greater New Hope Missionary |
| 12 |
| Baptist Church and later a member of St. Matthews Baptist |
| 13 |
| Church; and |
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, In 1982, she was called to the ministry; Minister |
| 15 |
| Mosley was a partner with Kenneth Haggin and Benny Hinn |
| 16 |
| Ministeries; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Minister Mosley was also active in her community; |
| 18 |
| for almost two decades, she served as an election judge |
| 19 |
| stationed at Attucks Elementary School; she also was a |
| 20 |
| successful Mary Kay Consultant for more than a decade; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Minister Mosley was preceded in death by both of |
| 22 |
| her parents; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Minister Elmarie Mosley will be |
| 24 |
| felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Roy |
| 25 |
| Mosley, Jr.; her children, Thesda Mosley-Manu, Eulanda |
| 26 |
| (Rickey) Shyne, Renetta Mosley, Roy Mosley, Jr., and David |
| 27 |
| Mosley; her sister, Barbara Mattox; her brother Gerard |
| 28 |
| Pleasant, Sr.; her grandchildren, Boafo Manu, Adwoa Manu, Kwame |
