| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Kenneth O. Carpenter of |
| 4 |
| Christopher on July 30, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Carpenter was born July 3, 1916, in |
| 6 |
| Mulkeytown, to Arthur and Lula (Rogers) Carpenter; he married |
| 7 |
| Loraine Myers; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a veteran, having served in the Air Force |
| 9 |
| during World War II in Italy; he was retired from Austin's |
| 10 |
| Periodicals after more than 40 years of service; he was a |
| 11 |
| member of Church of God in Christopher; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, |
| 13 |
| Lyndol and Ronald Dean Carpenter; his sisters, Genell Reed and |
| 14 |
| Ester Bullar; and his brothers, Claude and Ray Carpenter; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Kenneth Carpenter is felt by all |
| 16 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Loraine; his |
| 17 |
| daughter-in-law, Gaila Carpenter; his granddaughters, Nicole |
| 18 |
| and Mackenzie; his brother, Robert "Bob" and wife Billie |
| 19 |
| Carpenter; his sister, Velma Irvin; and his many special nieces |
| 20 |
| and nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 23 |
| Kenneth Carpenter and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
| 24 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 27 |
| sympathy.
