| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the 100th |
| 4 |
| anniversary of Ronchetti Distributing Company in Mattoon; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ronchetti Distributing recently celebrated its |
| 6 |
| 100th anniversary as a family-owned wholesale beer distributor |
| 7 |
| for St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The company was founded by Felix Ronchetti in 1906 |
| 9 |
| in the western Illinois town of Benld, delivering Pabst beer; |
| 10 |
| in 1914, Mr. Ronchetti moved to Nokomis and purchased the |
| 11 |
| Budweiser distributing business there; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, During Prohibition in the 1920s, Ronchetti |
| 13 |
| Distributing survived through the delivery of soft drinks; the |
| 14 |
| business acquired the Mattoon distribution area for |
| 15 |
| Anheuser-Busch in 1934, and Frank Ronchetti, son of Felix |
| 16 |
| Ronchetti, took over the operation there; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, In 1971, Bob Ronchetti began working for the |
| 18 |
| family business as a driver/salesman, and he became owner when |
| 19 |
| his father, Frank Ronchetti, passed away in 1981; when Bob |
| 20 |
| Ronchetti took over as owner, the company distributed just |
| 21 |
| Budweiser, Michelob, and Busch beers; today, Ronchetti |
| 22 |
| Distributing handles 20 different brands and more than 100 |
| 23 |
| products; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The company's building on south Lakeland |
| 25 |
| Boulevard, built in 1973, is the fourth Ronchetti warehouse |
| 26 |
| constructed in the area; Ronchetti still operates a center in |
| 27 |
| Nokomis and formerly had sites in Pana, Taylorville, and Paris; |
| 28 |
| and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Ronchetti Distributing covers the Illinois Route |
