| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the combat death in |
| 4 |
| Iraq of Lance Corporal Philip John Martini of Lansing on |
| 5 |
| Saturday, April 8, 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Martini graduated from Thornton |
| 7 |
| Fractional South High School in 2000; he joined the military in |
| 8 |
| the autumn of 2003 and was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps; |
| 9 |
| he joined the Marines to serve his country and better himself; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was an avid fisherman and really enjoyed a |
| 12 |
| family trip to Canada; he was a very social person, never alone |
| 13 |
| and always with friends and family; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lance Corporal Philip John Martini |
| 15 |
| has been deeply felt by many, especially his mother, Laura |
| 16 |
| Martini; his father, Philip S. Martini; his brothers, Anthony |
| 17 |
| Martini and James Martini; and his girlfriend, Kristine |
| 18 |
| Thompson; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 |
| we mourn the passing of Lance Corporal Philip John Martini, and |
| 22 |
| we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all |
| 23 |
| who knew and loved him; and be it further |
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal |
| 25 |
| Martini and his willingness to serve his country and fellow |
| 26 |
| man, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it |
| 27 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
