| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in |
| 4 |
| the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Judie |
| 6 |
| McConville, GRI, of Ottawa was named the 2006 Illinois Realtor |
| 7 |
| of the Year; and |
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, With a career that spans 30 years, Mrs. McConville |
| 9 |
| is the managing broker of Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in Ottawa; |
| 10 |
| from 1988 to 2001, she owned and operated her own real estate |
| 11 |
| firm, Prudential McConville Realty, which she sold to Coldwell |
| 12 |
| Banker Honig-Bell; and |
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, A past president of her local Illini Valley |
| 14 |
| Association of Realtors, Mrs. McConville was named its Realtor |
| 15 |
| of the Year in 1984 and has served on many committees over the |
| 16 |
| years, including Professional Standards and the Realtors |
| 17 |
| Political Action Committee Fundraising Committee; during her |
| 18 |
| 20 years of active State involvement, Mrs. McConville served as |
| 19 |
| president of the Illinois Association of Realtors in 2000 and |
| 20 |
| has chaired the IAR Advisory Council, District Vice President |
| 21 |
| Task Force, and Finance Working Group; she has served on the |
| 22 |
| IAR Board of Directors, Statewide Professional Standards |
| 23 |
| Agreement Task Force, Issues Mobilization Political Action |
| 24 |
| Committee Trustees, License Law Task Force, and Political |
| 25 |
| Fundraising Working Group; and |
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, In 1993, she received the IAR Community Service |
| 27 |
| Award and she earned two IAR Presidential Medallions for her |
| 28 |
| exemplary contributions to the Realtor Association; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. McConville currently lends her expertise to |
| 30 |
| the IAR Leadership Development Working Group, Professional |
|

| Standards Committee, and Grievance Committee; she also serves |
| 2 |
| on both the Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board |
| 3 |
| and the Auction Advisory Board of the Illinois Department of |
| 4 |
| Financial and Professional Regulation; active nationally since |
| 5 |
| 1991, Mrs. McConville represents IAR on the National |
| 6 |
| Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors and serves as |
| 7 |
| vice chair of the NAR Professional Standards Committee; she |
| 8 |
| serves on the board of directors of the Ottawa Area Chamber of |
| 9 |
| Commerce and Industry and has received many awards and |
| 10 |
| recognition for her involvement in her local community in the |
| 11 |
| Kiwanis Club, United Way, Ottawa Riverfest Committee, and the |
| 12 |
| Child Advocacy Board; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, She lives in Ottawa with her husband, Dale |
| 14 |
| McConville, a real estate appraiser and farm broker; she has |
| 15 |
| two sons, Marc and Jeff Tabor, and four grandchildren; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Realtor of the Year award is presented to the |
| 17 |
| one member of the Illinois Association of Realtors who best |
| 18 |
| exemplifies the professional qualities of a Realtor; the award |
| 19 |
| recognizes leadership and service in civic, community, and |
| 20 |
| charitable causes, as well as activity in the Realtor |
| 21 |
| Association; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Association of Realtors is a |
| 23 |
| voluntary trade association whose 61,000 members are engaged in |
| 24 |
| all facets of the real estate industry; in addition to serving |
| 25 |
| the professional needs of its members, the Illinois Association |
| 26 |
| of Realtors works to protect the rights of private property |
| 27 |
| owners in the State by recommending and promoting legislation |
| 28 |
| that safeguards and advances the interest of real property |
| 29 |
| ownership; therefore, be it
