| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, On March 22, John Svitak was honored as Westmont's |
| 3 |
| Citizen of the Year; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to receiving this award, Mr. Svitak |
| 5 |
| also received the President's Award, the top award given by the |
| 6 |
| Westmont Chamber of Commerce; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Village officials nominated Mr. Svitak for his |
| 8 |
| countless hours of volunteer time and his exceptional spirit of |
| 9 |
| giving without expecting anything in return; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, In his 40 years as a Westmont resident, Mr. Svitak |
| 11 |
| has been active in various activities and has been a member of |
| 12 |
| several clubs and organizations; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak actively volunteers with the Lions Club |
| 14 |
| and the Jaycees; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak is also one of the directors of the |
| 16 |
| Westmont Special Events Committee, and he has organized many |
| 17 |
| special events, including the Taste of Westmont, Holly Days, |
| 18 |
| Cruisin' Nights, and the Trick-or-Treat Trail; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak has served as the Main Street |
| 20 |
| organization director, Chamber of Commerce member, and often |
| 21 |
| acts as a lobby monitor during Village Hall meetings; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak also volunteers for a hospital in |
| 23 |
| Chicago, helping with paperwork for a blood drive that occurs |
| 24 |
| once every two months; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak is known for his humility and his |
| 26 |
| smile; therefore, be it
