| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the |
| 3 |
| cornerstones upon
which our society is built, and a marriage |
| 4 |
| that has achieved a notable
longevity is truly a model for the |
| 5 |
| people of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. Dan |
| 7 |
| Ricci of Schaumburg will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of |
| 8 |
| their
marriage on April 7, 2006; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Daniel Alfred Ricci and the former Marilyn Jane |
| 10 |
| Moffett met in 1954, began dating in 1955, fell in love, and |
| 11 |
| were united in
holy matrimony on April 7, 1956, at Saint Pius |
| 12 |
| Church in Chicago; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ricci worked for International Harvester for |
| 14 |
| over 43 years; he graduated from the University of Illinois |
| 15 |
| Management Program in 1980 and retired as a Maintenance |
| 16 |
| Supervisor in 1997; Mrs. Ricci lovingly held the position of |
| 17 |
| domestic engineer, and perfected the skills of motherhood; she |
| 18 |
| held various part-time jobs over the years and was an election |
| 19 |
| judge in Franklin Park for fifteen years; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Mike, Steve, Ken, |
| 21 |
| and Linda, and they boast eleven grandchildren, four |
| 22 |
| great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; they are |
| 23 |
| godparents to many nieces and nephews and are cherished by |
| 24 |
| friends and family; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its |
| 26 |
| highest plateaus
when a couple such as Dan and Marilyn |
| 27 |
| celebrate their golden
wedding anniversary; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, Dan and Marilyn stand as examples of the best of |
| 29 |
| our
society, and their love and devotion to each other and to |
