| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives offer our sincere congratulations to Mary | ||||||
| 4 | Alice D'Arcy on 25 years of service with Easter Seals DuPage | ||||||
| 5 | County; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mary Alice is a Chicago native whose family moved | ||||||
| 7 | to Villa Park when she was 13; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Upon graduating from Loyola Chicago with an MSW, | ||||||
| 9 | she was employed as a social worker in Wheaton public schools | ||||||
| 10 | and then transitioned to work with low-income housing in DuPage | ||||||
| 11 | County; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, In 1981, Mary Alice began her career in social | ||||||
| 13 | services with Easter Seals DuPage; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, From 1983 to 1985, she served as program director | ||||||
| 15 | and in 1995, she was named the chief executive officer; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Today Mary Alice serves as President and CEO of | ||||||
| 17 | Easter Seals DuPage; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Easter Seals DuPage provides therapy for children | ||||||
| 19 | and young adults with physical disabilities through physical, | ||||||
| 20 | occupational, speech, audiology, nutrition, and assertive | ||||||
| 21 | technology therapy; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Easter Seals DuPage serves children with a range | ||||||
| 23 | of diagnoses, including cerebral palsy and autism; and
| ||||||
| 24 | WHEREAS, When Mary Alice started her career with Easter | ||||||
| 25 | Seals DuPage, families were served from a little red school | ||||||
| 26 | house in Villa Park with a staff of 15 and a $500,000 budget; | ||||||
| 27 | and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Now, thanks to her leadership, Easter Seals DuPage | ||||||
| 2 | is the largest pediatric outpatient rehabilitation center in | ||||||
| 3 | Illinois, with services in Villa Park, Bolingbrook, | ||||||
| 4 | Naperville, and Elgin; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Today Easter Seals DuPage employs 130 | ||||||
| 6 | professionals, has a fiscal budget of $7.5 million, and | ||||||
| 7 | provides services to approximately 3,000 children each year; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Mary Alice has created an environment that | ||||||
| 10 | nourishes clients and staff; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, She continues to listen to and work with our | ||||||
| 12 | communities to discover the needs of families and works with | ||||||
| 13 | the therapy professionals to put plans into action to meet | ||||||
| 14 | those needs; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Children reach their maximum potential in large | ||||||
| 16 | part due to the specialized treatment children of various | ||||||
| 17 | developmental abilities received at the Easter Seals DuPage; | ||||||
| 18 | and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Mary Alice's commitment to Easter Seals DuPage and | ||||||
| 20 | children with disabilities is a source of inspiration to the | ||||||
| 21 | entire community and State; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 23 | NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 24 | we do hereby offer our congratulations to Mary Alice D'Arcy; | ||||||
| 25 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 26 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 27 | presented to the Mary Alice D'Arcy.
