| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death in Iraq of |
| 4 |
| U.S. Army Private Christopher M. Alcozer of Villa Park on |
| 5 |
| Saturday, November 19, 2005; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He was a 2003 graduate of Willowbrook High School |
| 7 |
| in Villa Park, where he was a good student, played viola, and |
| 8 |
| was on the wrestling team; he was known to be quiet and likable |
| 9 |
| and had strong ethics; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Private Alcozer had enlisted in the U.S. Army in |
| 11 |
| January and had been in Iraq for three months; he was a member |
| 12 |
| of the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team and was part of |
| 13 |
| Company C, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, stationed at |
| 14 |
| Fort Wainwright, Alaska; his team is known as the "Arctic |
| 15 |
| Wolves Brigade"; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He had hoped to return to college after his time |
| 17 |
| in the military to study education and music, possibly to |
| 18 |
| become a music teacher; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Earlier in the year, he had proposed to his |
| 20 |
| fiancee when he was on leave from Iraq; therefore, be it
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 23 |
| we mourn the passing of U.S. Army Private Christopher M. |
| 24 |
| Alcozer, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, |
| 25 |
| friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further |
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Private Alcozer and his |
| 27 |
| willingness to serve his country, which led to him making the |
| 28 |
| ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
