| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Six students from schools in the Park Forest area |
| 3 |
| were honored by the Rotary Club of Park Forest as winners of |
| 4 |
| the 4-Way Test Awards; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The awards are given to students who have |
| 6 |
| demonstrated in their lives the humanity, generosity, and |
| 7 |
| compassion expressed in the 4-Way Test, which asks of the |
| 8 |
| things an individual says or does: is it TRUTH?; is it FAIR to |
| 9 |
| all concerned?; will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?; |
| 10 |
| and will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The awards are not scholarships; they honor |
| 12 |
| personal excellence, good citizenship, and the ideal of service |
| 13 |
| to others; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The winners of the awards are Grace Addison from |
| 15 |
| Rich East High School, Josh Lioneil C. Go from Rich Central |
| 16 |
| High School, Jevon Moore from Rich South High School, Melissa |
| 17 |
| Cameron from Crete-Monee High School, Crystal Torres from |
| 18 |
| Crete-Monee Middle School, and Dominique Miller from Forest |
| 19 |
| Trail Jr. High School; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Each of the winners was one of two students |
| 21 |
| nominated for the award from each school; each nominee wrote an |
| 22 |
| essay on how the 4-Way Test relates to the way they live; the |
| 23 |
| students selected for the award are expected to be role models |
| 24 |
| and mentors for others who are and will be inspired by their |
| 25 |
| example of service above self; therefore, be it
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 28 |
| we congratulate the winners of the 4-Way Test Awards given by |
| 29 |
| the Rotary Club of Park Forest; and be it further
