| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Lake County schools continue to raise funds for |
| 3 |
| victims of the devastation left behind by the December tsunami |
| 4 |
| in Southeast Asia; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The 375 students at Novak-King School in North |
| 6 |
| Chicago took on a major fundraising effort and raised |
| 7 |
| approximately $740, which was supplemented by Novak-King's |
| 8 |
| Parent Teacher Organization to make it an even $1,000; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The students recently presented the check for |
| 10 |
| $1,000 to the United Way of Lake County, which will be |
| 11 |
| forwarded to the United Way International South Asia Response |
| 12 |
| Fund; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Because all of the students did so well raising |
| 14 |
| funds, the entire school was awarded a non-uniform day by |
| 15 |
| Principal Katerina Fey; therefore, be it
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 18 |
| we applaud the Novak-King School students' humanitarian |
| 19 |
| efforts on behalf of the tsunami victims; and be it further
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 |
| presented to Novak-King School as an expression of our |
| 22 |
| appreciation for their selflessness and generosity.
