| AN ACT concerning public aid.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 5-5e as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (305 ILCS 5/5-5e new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-5e. Autism. The Department of Healthcare and Family |
| 8 |
| Services shall extend traditional services under the medical |
| 9 |
| assistance program under this Article to individuals with |
| 10 |
| autism. These services shall include, but need not be limited |
| 11 |
| to, applied behavioral therapy, speech services, and other |
| 12 |
| necessary healthcare services.

| 13 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 |
| becoming law.
