| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3814

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3814 on page 2, line |
| 3 |
| 17, by replacing "Combinations" with "Except as provided in |
| 4 |
| subsections (c-1) and (c-2), combinations
Combinations"; and

| 5 |
| on page 4, immediately below line 19, by inserting the |
| 6 |
| following: |
| 7 |
| "(E) The combination of vehicles must be operated |
| 8 |
| by a person who holds a commercial driver's license |
| 9 |
| (CDL). |
| 10 |
| (c-1) A combination of 3 vehicles is allowed access to any |
| 11 |
| State designated highway if: |
| 12 |
| (1) the length of neither towed vehicle exceeds 28.5 |
| 13 |
| feet; and |
| 14 |
| (2) the overall wheel base of the combination of |
| 15 |
| vehicles does not exceed 62 feet.

| (c-2) A combination of 3 vehicles is allowed access from |
| 17 |
| any State designated highway onto any county, township, or |
| 18 |
| municipal highway for a distance of 5 highway miles for the |
| 19 |
| purpose of delivery or collection of one or both of the towed |
| 20 |
| vehicles if: |
| 21 |
| (1) the length of neither towed vehicle exceeds 28.5 |
| 22 |
| feet; |
| 23 |
| (2) the combination of vehicles does not exceed 40,000 |
| 24 |
| pounds in gross weight and 8 feet 6 inches in width; |
| 25 |
| (3) there is no sign prohibiting that access; and |
