| AN ACT concerning civil law.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Non-Support Punishment Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 7 as follows:
|

| (750 ILCS 16/7)
|

| Sec. 7. Prosecutions by Attorney General. In addition to |
| 8 |
| enforcement
proceedings by the
the several State's Attorneys, a |
| 9 |
| proceeding for the enforcement
of this Act may be instituted |
| 10 |
| and prosecuted by the Attorney General in cases
referred by the |
| 11 |
| Illinois Department of Public Aid involving persons receiving
|
| 12 |
| child support enforcement services under Article X of the
|
| 13 |
| Illinois Public Aid
Code. Before referring a case to the |
| 14 |
| Attorney General for enforcement under
this Act, the Department |
| 15 |
| of Public Aid shall notify the person receiving child
support |
| 16 |
| enforcement services under Article X of the Illinois
Public Aid |
| 17 |
| Code of
the Department's intent to refer the case to the |
| 18 |
| Attorney General under this
Section for prosecution. |
