| AN ACT concerning transportation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 13B-27 as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/13B-27 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 13B-27. Muffler or exhaust system modification; |
| 8 |
| excessive noise. A vehicle automatically fails the emission |
| 9 |
| inspection required under this Chapter if the vehicle, based on |
| 10 |
| visual observation, is equipped with a muffler or exhaust |
| 11 |
| system that clearly has been modified to amplify or increase |
| 12 |
| the noise of the vehicle.
