    AN ACT concerning pensions.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing 
5
Section 6-101 as follows:

    Sec. 6-101. Creation of fund.

    In each city of more than 500,000 inhabitants, a firemen's 
9
annuity and
and
benefit fund shall be created, set apart, and 
10
maintained, for the benefit
of its firemen, their widows, 
11
children and parents, and of all contributors
to, participants 
12
in, and beneficiaries of any firemen's pension fund in

13
operation, by authority of law, in such city immediately prior 
14
to the
effective date. For the purposes of this Article, the 
15
firemen's annuity and
benefit fund may be referred to as the 
16
"fund".
