| with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. |

| 2, as follows:

| on page 4, line 2, after "increased by", by inserting "the |
| 6 |
| lesser of 3.5% or"; and |
| 7 |
| on page 49, line 27, after "fiscal year", by inserting ", |
| 8 |
| unless the foundation level is increased by law to a higher |
| 9 |
| amount"; and |
| 10 |
| on page 79, line 9, by changing "14-17.03" to "14-7.03"; and |
| 11 |
| on page 79, immediately below line 19, by inserting the |
| 12 |
| following: |
| 13 |
| "(7) On the first day of each month, or as soon |
| 14 |
| thereafter as practical, beginning on August 1, 2006, the |
| 15 |
| Treasurer shall transfer to the State Board of Education |
| 16 |
| $2,500,000 for the purposes of making grants under Sections |
| 17 |
| 2-3.71, 2-3.71a, and 2-3.89 of this Code. On August 1, |
| 18 |
| 2007, and each August 1 thereafter, the monthly amount |
| 19 |
| transferred under this item (7) shall be increased by the |
| 20 |
| lesser of 3.5% or the percentage increase, in the previous |
| 21 |
| 12-month period ending on June 31, of the Consumer Price |
| 22 |
| Index for all Urban Consumers published by the federal |
