Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that a physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches may not implant pieces of jewelry into the mucous membrane of the eye. Provides that a violation is a Class 4 felony. Provides that the clerk of the court shall forward a copy of the judgment of conviction of a physician for a violation of this provision to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Medical Disciplinary Board for appropriate disciplinary action under the Medical Practice Act of 1987.

| AN ACT concerning criminal law.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 12-10.3 as follows: |
| 6 |
| (720 ILCS 5/12-10.3 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 12-10.3. Jewelry eye implants prohibited.
|
| 8 |
| (a) A physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its |
| 9 |
| branches may not implant pieces of jewelry into the mucous |
| 10 |
| membrane of the eye. |
| 11 |
| (b) Sentence. A violation of this Section is a Class 4 |
| 12 |
| felony. |
| 13 |
| (c) The clerk of the court shall forward a copy of the |
| 14 |
| judgment of conviction of any physician who violates this |
| 15 |
| Section to the Department of Financial and Professional |
| 16 |
| Regulation and the Medical Disciplinary Board for appropriate |
| 17 |
| disciplinary action under Section 22 of the Medical Practice |
| 18 |
| Act of 1987.
