Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person under the age of 16 years may not operate an all-terrain vehicle with an engine larger than 90 cubic centimeters. Provides that the owner or person in possession of an all-terrain vehicle of that type may not knowingly permit a person under the age of 16 to operate it.

| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 11-1427.5 as follows: |
| 6 |
| (625 ILCS 5/11-1427.5 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 11-1427.5. Adult-size all-terrain vehicles; operation |
| 8 |
| by persons under 16 prohibited. |
| 9 |
| (a) A person under the age of 16 years may not operate an |
| 10 |
| all-terrain vehicle that has an engine larger than 90 cubic |
| 11 |
| centimeters. |
| 12 |
| (b) The owner or person in possession of an all-terrain |
| 13 |
| vehicle with an engine larger than 90 cubic centimeters may not |
| 14 |
| knowingly permit a person under the age of 16 years to operate |
| 15 |
| that vehicle.
