<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>305 ILCS 5/5-5.25 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>320 ILCS 65/32 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code and the Family Caregiver Act. Provides that a family caregiver who provides in-home care to an older adult who is a frail individual and who claims that frail individual as a dependent for federal and State income tax purposes is eligible for cash assistance based on the frail individual's needs, not to exceed $2,000 per month. Requires the Department of Public Aid to apply for a waiver of federal law and regulations to allow the use of Medicaid funds to fund this cash assistance program, and requires the Department on Aging to cooperate with the Department of Public Aid to secure Medicaid funding. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
