<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>750 ILCS 50/1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 40, par. 1501</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Adoption Act. Provides that there is a rebuttable presumption that a parent is depraved if the parent has been convicted of 3 forcible felonies (instead of felonies) and that at least 3 of these convictions (instead of one of these convictions) took place within 5 years of the filing of the petition or motion seeking the termination of parental rights. Provides that a petition or motion seeking to terminate parental rights for lack of progress, in a 9-month period toward the return of the child, shall specify the 9-month period relied upon by the petitioner.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the original bill with the following changes. Restores, in the language concerning the rebuttable presumption that a parent is depraved if the parent has been convicted of at least 3 forcible felonies, that at least one (instead of 3) of these convictions took place within 5 years of the filing of the petition or motion seeking termination of parental rights. Provides that, in determining whether a parent is depraved, the court shall consider the parent's criminal conviction record including, but not limited to, the conviction of any felony that cannot be classified as forcible.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
