<reference>75 ILCS 70/1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 81, par. 1201</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Library Records Confidentiality Act. Sets forth procedures under which a library may publish or make any information contained in its records available to the public if the information is requested by a sworn law enforcement officer who represents that it is impractical to secure a court order as a result of an emergency where the law enforcement officer reasonably believes that there is an imminent danger. Provides that these procedures shall not alter any right to challenge the use or dissemination of patron information that is otherwise permitted by law. Provides that the disclosure of information under these provisions does not constitute a privacy violation or a breach of confidentiality.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that the registration and circulation record information may not be released upon the request of a sworn law enforcement officer unless the officer has probable cause to believe that there is an imminent danger of physical harm (instead of the officer "reasonably believes that there is an imminent danger").</SynopsisText></synopsis>
