| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened  | 
| 3 |  | to learn of the death of George Killion of Godfrey on March 26,  | 
| 4 |  | 2004; and
 | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, George Killion was born on June 22, 1928, in  | 
| 6 |  | Carlyle to George and Rose (Glass) Killion Sr.; he married the  | 
| 7 |  | former Sylvia D. Jones; and
 | 
| 8 |  |     WHEREAS,
He received his education in Carlyle and was a  | 
| 9 |  | United States Army Korean War veteran; he was employed in the  | 
| 10 |  | wire mill department at Laclede Steel Company for 44 years,  | 
| 11 |  | retiring in 1994; he was a bus driver for Principia College for  | 
| 12 |  | seven years, and also for Laidlaw in Alton; and
 | 
| 13 |  |     WHEREAS,  Mr. Killion was a charter member of Unity  | 
| 14 |  | Fellowship Church in Godfrey; and
 | 
| 15 |  |     WHEREAS, The passing of George Killion will be deeply felt  | 
| 16 |  | by many especially his wife, Sylvia; his two sons and  | 
| 17 |  | daughter-in-law, Kenneth Killion and Michael and Macarolyn  | 
| 18 |  | Killion; his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathleen and  | 
| 19 |  | Tecumshea Holmes, Diana and Thomas Leonard, Patricia North, and  | 
| 20 |  | Rose and Frederic Almond; his 13 grandchildren; his three  | 
| 21 |  | great-grandchildren; his sister, Lydia Reddick; and a host of  | 
| 22 |  | nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and be it further
 | 
| 23 |  |     WHEREAS,
He was preceded in death by his parents and a  | 
| 24 |  | sister, Juanita Alexander; therefore, be it
 | 
| 25 |  |     RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL  | 
| 26 |  | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of  | 
| 27 |  | George Killion along with all who knew and loved him and extend  | 
| 28 |  | our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it  | 
| 29 |  | further
