| AN ACT concerning civil procedure.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 2-1702 as follows:
|

| Sec. 2-1702. Economic loss; non-economic loss.
|
| 10 |
| Economic/Non-Economic Loss.
As used in this Part:
|
| 11 |
| (a) "Economic loss" means all pecuniary harm for which |
| 12 |
| damages
are recoverable.
|
| 13 |
| (b) "Non-economic loss" means loss of consortium and all |
| 14 |
| nonpecuniary
harm for which damages are recoverable, |
| 15 |
| including, without limitation,
damages for pain and suffering, |
| 16 |
| inconvenience, disfigurement, and
physical impairment.
