| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Leon and Mattie |
| 4 |
| Hosley on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Leon and Mattie were married in Roberta, Georgia |
| 6 |
| on December 26, 1954; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, They moved to Chicago in 1955, and resided in two |
| 8 |
| southside neighborhoods before buying a home for their family |
| 9 |
| at 63rd and Normal in 1958; they are the proud parents of |
| 10 |
| Linda, Leon, Jr., Wayne, and Lisa; there are 11 grandchildren |
| 11 |
| and 11 great-grandchildren, with twins on the way; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, In 1956, Leon started working at People's Iron & |
| 13 |
| Metal; in 1967, he went to Barber College and, in 1970, he |
| 14 |
| purchased his own barber shop located at 8922 S. Cottage Grove, |
| 15 |
| Chicago; after a fire in 1989, he moved his barber shop to 8911 |
| 16 |
| S. Cottage Grove, where he works to this day; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Mattie started working for Artway Manufacturing |
| 18 |
| in 1970, and retired from there in 1983 and became a homemaker; |
| 19 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 22 |
| offer our congratulations to Leon and Mattie Hosley on the |
| 23 |
| occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and we wish them |
| 24 |
| many more such celebrations; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to Leon and Mattie Hosley and their family as an |
| 27 |
| expression of our respect and esteem.
