| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Corporal Brad Seegert of Crystal Lake, serving in |
| 3 |
| the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Division of the U.S. Marine |
| 4 |
| Corps, was seriously injured when his vehicle struck tank mines |
| 5 |
| on October 31, 2004, in the Al Anbar province of Iraq; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Corporal Seegert, a 1997 graduate of Crystal Lake |
| 7 |
| Central High School, joined the Marines in November of 2001; |
| 8 |
| and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He first suffered injuries in March of 2003 in an |
| 10 |
| ambush during Operation Iraqi Freedom; he underwent skin-graft |
| 11 |
| surgery and received a Purple Heart;
he returned to active duty |
| 12 |
| in May of 2003 and his unit left for Iraq in late summer; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Corporal Seegert's extraordinary sacrifice will |
| 14 |
| be remembered by us all; our prayers are with him as he |
| 15 |
| recovers from his injuries; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Corporal Seegert's parents, Karen and Bill |
| 17 |
| Seegert, and his fiancee, Erin Hargraves, are with him at this |
| 18 |
| time; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 |
| honor Corporal Brad Seegert for his valor and devotion to duty |
| 22 |
| and we wish him a speedy recovery; and be it further
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to Corporal Brad Seegert as an expression of our |
| 25 |
| respect and esteem.
