| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize the Providence Catholic |
| 4 |
| Dancing Celtics Pom Pon Squad of New Lenox for their many |
| 5 |
| accomplishments in the 2003-2004 season; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, This year the Providence Dancing Celtics squad |
| 7 |
| contained 20 very talented dancers; they started the season by |
| 8 |
| attending a Universal Dance Association summer camp at Northern |
| 9 |
| Illinois University; they brought home a trophy for Home |
| 10 |
| Routine, received the "On the Ball Award", a spirit stick, a |
| 11 |
| bid to nationals, and numerous superior ribbons with over 25 |
| 12 |
| teams attending the camp; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, In September of 2003, they attended their first |
| 14 |
| competition of the season at Great America; they competed with |
| 15 |
| only one routine and placed first in the category; this earned |
| 16 |
| them a bid to the National Dance Alliance national competition |
| 17 |
| in Orlando, Florida; they ventured to Orlando and placed 6th in |
| 18 |
| hip-hop in the nation and 9th in kick in the nation; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, The Dancing Celtics attended two regional |
| 20 |
| competitions, bringing a hip-hop routine and a kick routine to |
| 21 |
| each event; in January of 2004, they competed at Oak Forest |
| 22 |
| High School and the next month at Stagg; during regionals, they |
| 23 |
| placed both of the routines in the top three within their |
| 24 |
| category and advanced both of the routines onto |
| 25 |
| SuperSectionals; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, In March of 2004, the Dancing Celtics attended |
| 27 |
| SuperSectionals at Fremd High School in Palatine and for the |
| 28 |
| first time ever, they placed first at SuperSectionals in one of |
| 29 |
| their categories; this advanced both of their routines to the |
| 30 |
| State finals; and
