| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The city of Rock Island has developed a plan to |
| 3 |
| establish, identify, promote, and improve the corridor of the |
| 4 |
| city known as the Rock Island Parkway, running from the border |
| 5 |
| with Moline on the east to U.S. Route 67 in the southwest |
| 6 |
| portion of Rock Island; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The city of Rock Island is seeking official |
| 8 |
| designation of the Illinois Route 92 segment of that corridor, |
| 9 |
| now known as the Centennial Expressway, as the Rock Island |
| 10 |
| Parkway; therefore, be it
|
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 12 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 13 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the portion of Illinois Route |
| 14 |
| 92, in the city of Rock Island, extending from 46th Street to |
| 15 |
| Andalusia Road be designated the Rock Island Parkway; and be it |
| 16 |
| further
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State is directed to |
| 18 |
| indicate, on maps of the State of Illinois, that the portion of |
| 19 |
| Illinois Route 92, in the city of Rock Island, extending from |
| 20 |
| 46th Street to Andalusia Road is designated the Rock Island |
| 21 |
| Parkway; and be it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation |
| 23 |
| is directed to erect, at suitable locations consistent with |
| 24 |
| State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs |
| 25 |
| giving notice of the name; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| delivered to the Mayor of Rock Island, the Illinois Secretary |
| 28 |
| of State, and the Illinois Secretary of Transportation.
