SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kathleen Stacy (Boynton) Holland of
4Frankfort, who passed away on April 4, 2026 at the age of 72;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was born in Bellingham, Washington
7on February 18, 1949; she graduated from Bellingham High
8School and earned a bachelor's degree in history from the
9University of Washington and a master's degree in school
10administration from Lewis University; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland dedicated 23 years of distinguished
12service as director of community relations for Lincoln-Way
13High School District 210, where she was instrumental in
14launching the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational
15Excellence, raising millions of dollars to support students
16and teachers while building strong connections between the
17schools and the community; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was a lifelong advocate for
19education and previously served on the Placentia Yorba Linda
20School Board in California, where she helped significantly
21improve third-grade reading scores; and

1    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was involved in numerous civic and
2cultural organizations, including the Illinois Philharmonic
3Orchestra, the New Lenox Rotary Club, the Suburban Service
4League, the Silver Cross Hospital Foundation, and the League
5of Women Voters, always living by the Rotary motto of "Service
6Above Self"; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was the devoted and loving wife of
8Jim Holland, who served as mayor of Frankfort, and was the
9strategic force and political powerhouse behind his successful
10campaigns for Frankfort trustee and mayor; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was known for her warmth,
12positivity, cheerful spirit, and ability to bring people
13together, and she enriched every community she served and
14touched countless lives through her dedication and kindness;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was the devoted wife of 55 years of
17Jim; the loving mother of her two sons, Benjamin (Beverly) and
18David (Nancy); the proud grandmother of Nikolai; and the
19cherished sister of David (Jennifer) Boynton; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Kathleen Stacy (Boynton) Holland and extend our sincere

1condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
2her; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
