| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola of | ||||||
| 4 | Skokie, who passed away on May 23, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola was born in | ||||||
| 6 | Kanbhi, Gujarat, India on June 24, 1963; he immigrated to the | ||||||
| 7 | United States in 1986; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola earned a Master | ||||||
| 9 | of Arts in Commerce from Gujarat University, also known as | ||||||
| 10 | NavGujarat College, in Gujarat, India, and he pursued further | ||||||
| 11 | coursework at Northeastern Illinois University; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola dedicated his | ||||||
| 13 | career as an executive in the construction industry, | ||||||
| 14 | advocating tirelessly for the fair treatment of minority | ||||||
| 15 | contractors in government and expanding their access to | ||||||
| 16 | resources; after joining Sumit Construction in 1986, he | ||||||
| 17 | quickly rose to the rank of vice president, where he helped | ||||||
| 18 | rebuild infrastructure across many Chicago neighborhoods; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola gave selflessly | ||||||
| 20 | to his community through service in countless organizations, | ||||||
| 21 | including as one of the founding members of the Gayatri | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Parivar of North America, helping establish centers, including | ||||||
| 2 | the Gayatri Gyan Mandir in Chicago, as president of the | ||||||
| 3 | Indo-American Democratic Organization, and as past president | ||||||
| 4 | of Vishwa Hindu Parishad America (VHPA); he also financed the | ||||||
| 5 | education of countless children in India and helped young | ||||||
| 6 | people throughout Illinois find meaningful employment; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola leaves behind a | ||||||
| 8 | legacy of his selflessness, his warm spirit, his | ||||||
| 9 | solution-oriented approach, and his deep desire to help people | ||||||
| 10 | grow and succeed; above all, he will be remembered for his | ||||||
| 11 | radiant smile that lit up every room he entered and the | ||||||
| 12 | boundless positive energy he shared with all who knew him; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola is survived by | ||||||
| 14 | his wife, Vandana; his children, Krupa and Parth; his | ||||||
| 15 | daughter-in-law, Priyal; and two grandchildren; therefore, be | ||||||
| 16 | it | ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 19 | Harendrasinh Pratapsinh Mangrola and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 20 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 21 | him; and be it further | ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
