SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kaleb Deer, who passed away on April
414, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer, the son of former Cook County
6Commissioner Dennis Deer and Barbara Deer, was born on May 5,
72002; he received his degree in psychology from Northern
8Illinois University, and he was actively pursuing his Master
9of Business of Administration; he was a member of Omega Psi Phi
10Fraternity, Inc., where he embraced the principles of
11leadership, discipline, and service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer worked as a mental health counselor,
13serving individuals at their most vulnerable with compassion,
14patience, and dignity; he gained experience at Stroger
15Hospital and in a congressional office, developing a deeper
16understanding of systems and advocacy; he was also an
17entrepreneur, founding the Stealth Clothing brand; at the time
18of his passing, he was pursuing his real estate license with
19plans to partner with his brother, Kanaan, to strengthen
20communities through financial literacy and homeownership; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was known for his compassion, his
22dependability, his quiet strength, and his ability to lead

1without seeking recognition; his life was marked by intention,
2service, and a deep commitment to making a difference in the
3lives of others; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer was preceded in death by his parents;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Kaleb Deer is survived by his twin brother,
7Kanaan; his sister, Trinity; his niece, Kamora; and a host of
8extended family members, friends, fraternity brothers, and
9community members; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Kaleb Deer and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Kaleb Deer as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
