SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Illinois and Poland have many connections, with
3over one million residents of Polish descent living in
4Illinois and contributing to the cultural and economic
5vitality of the State; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Beyond the State's borders, Illinois and Poland
7share many unique connections including six sister cities,
8which are Chicago and Warsaw, Chicago Heights and Wadowice,
9Franklin Park and Skarzysko-Kamienna, Niles and Limanowa,
10Roselle and Bochnia, and Tinley Park and Nowy Sacz; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Illinois-Poland National Guard partnership,
12established in 1993, has built lasting military, cyber, and
13civilian security expertise over the course of the 33-year
14partnership; and
 
15    WHEREAS, April 29 also marks the inauguration of the
16Polish Caucus, which was created to honor and celebrate the
17accomplishments and contributions of the Polish community, as
18well as uplift the community as a whole; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare April 29,
212026 as Polonia Impact Day in the State of Illinois; and be it

3presented to the Polish-American Congress as a symbol of our
4esteem and respect.
