SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gary G. Krueger, who passed away on
4April 21, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger, the son of Anthony "Tony" and
6Glennon (Myers) Krueger, was born in Alton on November 3,
71950; he graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1968
8and attended Western Illinois University; he married Rhonda
9Mary Beiser at Delhi Baptist Church on February 6, 1971, and
10she preceded him in death on October 26, 2025; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a lifelong farmer and later
12retired as a supervisor with the Illinois Department of
13Transportation; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a member of the Jersey County
15Board, previously serving as vice chairman and chairman;
16during his tenure, he also served as chair of the Economic
17Development and Tourism, Liquor Control, and Personnel
18Committees; he served as a Mississippi Township trustee and
19was a member of the Jersey County Board of Review, the Jersey
20County Rural Water Board, and the Soil and Water Board; he
21served as chairman of the Jersey County Republican Committee;
22he was a past member of the Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of

1Moose; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger enjoyed working in his shop, where
3he built his own barbecue grill and smoker; he cherished
4traveling with his wife and especially enjoyed their annual
5trips to Branson and visits with their grandchildren in the
6South; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was preceded in death by his
8parents; his sister, Barbara Long, and her spouse, Spencer;
9and his brothers-in-law, Ed Holzworth and George Welch; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gary Krueger is survived by his sons, Benjamin
11(Lynn) Krueger and Christopher Curt (Stephanie) Krueger; his
12daughter, Carisa (Kyle) Cook; his grandchildren, Devon
13(Victoria) Krueger, Riley Krueger, Hayley Krueger, Alexander
14Krueger, Brady Cook, Levi Cook, and Cailyn Cook; his
15great-grandchildren, Valerie Krueger and Henry Krueger; his
16siblings, Sue Holzworth, Donna (Marion) Phipps, Linda (Tony
17Kent) Krueger, Martha Welch, and Marilyn Woelfel; and many
18extended family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Gary G. Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to his
22family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
