SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dorothy L. Goleman of Naples, Florida,
4formerly of Divernon, who passed away on September 3, 2025;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman, the daughter of Lawrence and
7Helen Hinkle Reichert, was born in rural Virden on April 23,
81927; she graduated from Virden High School in 1945; she
9earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Illinois
10Wesleyan University in 1949; she married A. Leo Goleman on
11July 23, 1950; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman served as a music teacher for
13Springfield Public Schools District 186, and she also taught
14private piano and organ lessons for 58 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman was a member of Divernon United
16Methodist Church for 71 years, where she served as music
17director for many years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman was preceded in death by her
19husband of 36 years, Leo; her children, Melinda, Ann, and
20John; and her brother, Tom Reichert; and

1    WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman is survived by her son, Andy
2(Gwen Montgomery) Goleman; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Goleman;
3four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother,
4Fred (Eileen) Reichert; her sister-in-law, Luann Reichert; and
5several cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Dorothy L. Goleman and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dorothy Goleman as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
