| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of John L. Goleman of Divernon, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 1, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Goleman, the son of Leo and Dorothy Reichert |
| 6 | | Goleman, was born in Springfield on August 1, 1953; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Divernon High School in 1971; he received a |
| 8 | | bachelor's degree in agriculture from Western Illinois |
| 9 | | University, where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho |
| 10 | | fraternity; he married Kathy Grider on February 17, 1978; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, John Goleman, along with his wife, worked on the |
| 12 | | family farm located just outside of Divernon, where they |
| 13 | | raised their two children; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Goleman was a lifetime member of the |
| 15 | | Divernon United Methodist Church, where he served as board |
| 16 | | chairman for numerous years; he also served as a trustee for |
| 17 | | the Township of Divernon for 36 years; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Goleman was an avid sports fan, especially |
| 19 | | the Fighting Illini and the St. Louis Cardinals; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, John Goleman was a devoted family man with a |
